Serengeti Ecotourism Centre .

KENYA | TANZANIA | UGANDA | ZANZIBAR

The only place on Serengeti’s Western Corridor where local people’s needs are incorporated into conservation efforts. Traditional Banda’s have been built matching local conditions, using local materials, and by local people. The centre has been able to provide employment to local people, while efforts are being made to establish projects of benefit to local people such as clean water, and income from sustainable craft making. Part of the revenue generated from the Ecotourism Centre goes towards community development initiatives. The Ecotourism Centre offers the following services.

·        Safe and Secure Campsite (capacity of over 50 persons) with shower and cooking place.

·        Watering hole for view of night animals.

·        Traditional Banda’s (single, double and family rooms), all with shower and toilet.

·        Driver/guide rooms adjacent to the Banda’s.

·        Dining/party room cum conference room (capacity of 40 persons).

·        Satellite television and video facilities.

·        Children’s play ground.

·        Open, private traditional huts for refreshments.

·        Traditional gift/craft shop.

A 24 Hr Ambulance service is available to SECUCE from the nearby Bunda District Designated Hospital, and the Handajega Airstrip is nearby for emergency evacuation.

Please note that all meals are served at the site by qualified Chefs, therefore there is no need of carrying own food. Campers/Backpackers are allowed to bring their own food supplies.
